The Seahawks have had their eyes set on Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III in a search to look for a reliable veteran to play back up to the Super/Pro Bowler Russell Wilson. When asked about the running passers, Pete Carroll said this to ESPN Seattle’s Brock and Salk show “quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys.”
Kaepernick is probably stats wise the best remaining free-agent quarterback in the NFL, having thrown 16 touchdown passes and only four interceptions in 2016. Then there’s the fact that he protested the national anthem last season.
However, several Seahawks players spoke out in favor of supporting Kaepernick’s stance, including Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril. Although Kapernick has went on to say for the record that he isnt kneeling for the national anthem anymore, the franchise seems more interested in finding a suitable backup QB than the politics of the national anthem.
